After the invites have been sent, to invite everybody to your big day, the next milestone in any wedding day is the transportation to the ceremony itself. Though some people will have their ceremony at their home, most will travel to a recognized place to pledge their love.
Arriving in an unusual style is becoming a more popular way to make an impression on your loved ones, and the more unusual the arrival, the bigger the impact is. Below are a few unusual means of transportation to amaze everybody at your special day.
Hot Air Balloon
For the true romantics everywhere, a balloon ride is a special event, but using a hot air balloon for your big day will add a new dimension to the ceremony and the journey. The traditional approach for transportation has long been separate arrivals, but as different transportation has begun to be used, this single arrival has disappeared, paving the way for hot air balloons. Now it is acceptable to float down to your ceremony and then afterward head skywards to your new life.
Limousine
This may not strike you as unusual at first as limousines are often used for weddings and the like, but you have two options here to increase the wow factor. You can use a limousine as a boys and girls entrance making it a fun exciting journey. The men travel in their limo and the girls travel in theirs, making this is a great way to settle those wedding day nerves. Another way to really impress with a limo is to use one of the novelty limousines that may be available. Limousines can be found as varied as stretched supercars and tanks; imagine rolling up to your ceremony in one of these and the effect on your guests.
Carriage

This revival has given a sense of romanticism, as one cannot deny that horse drawn carriages are more beautiful to watch than the usual mechanized transport. Photo & Info Courtesy: Peter Grima
This may seem a traditional approach, but in reality not many people use one. The reason we see so many wedding photographs of brides in a carriage is because it is what so many brides see in their fantasy wedding. It is actually quite simple to make the fantasy a reality, and there are a variety of styles and colours you could use for you big day. From the black state coaches, to the open topped white princess coaches, your entrance will start your wedding in style.
Helicopter

If you want to make a big impact, they don’t come any bigger than this. The noise and commotion that a helicopter makes arriving anywhere ensures that the world sits up and pays attention, and a wedding is no different. If the space and your budget allow it, then a helicopter is the perfect way to start your day; you will probably never have such an exciting journey again.
These forms of transportation can be used for other ceremonies as well as weddings, but that does not mean that using one of them will not make your day stand out from the norm. In my opinion, all of these would be a great way to set out on the rest of your lives.
