These days, more and more couples like the idea of having their wedding ceremony at home. This is even more special for couples, when they have this ceremony in the new house, in which they are about to start living their married life together. Or it can also be in the house in which the couple has been living in together for some time now.
A lot of parents on the other hand like it if their daughters get married in the house they were born in. Or sometimes, either the bride or the groom could have a special ancestral house, which means a lot to them, so they could decide to get married there.
Whatever be the case, home weddings are becoming more and more popular these days. Here are some great ideas for you to make your home wedding special:
Show A Pictorial Journey

When you have a home wedding, make sure you put up a lot of photo frames in and around the house in a way that they show the journey of the couple together. These could also include some childhood pictures of the bride and the groom, just for fun. In some cultures, ancestors are remembered during the ceremony prayers. So to add a little emotional value; you can even have their pictures in large frames on the ceremony day.
Get landscaping done
If you can spend a lot of money on florists and decorators in a typical banquet wedding, then you sure can spend money on getting your own home lawn landscaped. Ask the experts to come in with designs, and choose things like flowerbed hearts, bushes cut in the alphabets of the bride’s and the groom’s name, a waterfall with ceramic swans in it etc. This kind of landscaping will prepare your lawn as a great venue for the ceremony to happen in.
Create A Treasure Hunt Game

When the main ceremony is done, you can ask the bride and the groom to participate in a treasure hunt game, the hints to which can be spread in all rooms of the house. This is also a fun game to engage the guests, and gives a fun twist to the conventional wedding ceremony.
Create A Disco!

Re-arrange the furniture in the living room to make some space. Then get experts to create a centralized music system for you for the day, such that all rooms in the house have music at equal volumes. Get some fancy lights put up in the living room, and make it into a disco. In other words, make your conventional wedding party into an extended house party with a lot of fun. This is great when you have a lot of young guests on your list.
Considering the fact that your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life, you can go completely crazy with ideas, and be as innovative as you want. Discuss with your partner on what themes you’d like to experiment with, and create your own interesting home wedding ceremony.
