A lot goes into planning a wedding. One of the most important aspects of your planning process is choosing a color scheme because this is the color, or set of colors, that you’ll use throughout the event, from your bouquet and your bridesmaids’ flowers to your bridal party’s gowns. Even the groom’s boutonniere and the vests on the men in your bridal party will carry the color that you choose.
A set color scheme will ensure that there is a flow throughout your wedding and that all of your wedding décor matches and comes together perfectly. Rather than a mishmash of different colors, your event will make sense to all of your guests, especially if you start using your color scheme from the moment you send out your invitations.
Always Consider the Season of Your Wedding

The first thing that you want to think about is what time of year your wedding will take place. This will play a major part in determining what color scheme will be best. For example, if you’re planning a summer wedding outside in a tent, you can go for the rich and vibrant greens that you see in an overgrown forest during this season, or if you’re going with a beach theme, you can instead opt for pale to medium blues, oranges, yellows, or even coral.
Pale shades, such as lavender and lilac and other pastels, are perfect for springtime events. If you’re throwing your event in the autumn, on the other hand, rich hues like burnt orange, reds, gold, browns, and cream shades are appropriate.
A winter wedding can be a black and white affair, or you can instead go for darker shades of red, purple, and blue.
Also Consider the Venue

The venue you choose will also play an important role in the colors that you pick. You need to take into consideration the overall theme of the wedding venue itself. Are there neutral tones throughout or are there colors that will clash with the ones you wish to incorporate into your day? Look at everything from the color of the chairs to those on the walls and in the carpeting. As long as everything is neutral enough, you can definitely bring in whatever colors you wish. Otherwise, you will need to work harder to find shades that will work.
Use a Color Wheel

A color wheel is a great tool if you want to use more than one color in your wedding scheme but you are not sure what shades will really go well together. This wheel allows you to see what colors are in the same family and which ones are opposites. When it comes to choosing a scheme with multiple colors, this is a great way to make sure that they will not clash and will actually work really well together.
One of the important steps in the wedding planning process is choosing your colors. Choose wisely and you will have a memorable event that comes together beautifully.
