So you have set a date and are getting ready for your big day. The next step is to choose what you are going to do for the wedding invitation. Your wedding is a once in a lifetime experience, so you want everything to be perfect.
Choosing the right wedding invitation for your special occasion is an important aspect of the preparations and you want your guests to feel as excited as you about coming to see you as you step out into your new life.
Here are 5 unique ideas for wedding invitations:
1. Fridge Magnet Invite
Nothing is worse than paying the expensive costs for the reception and people not turning up. By the time you know that they are not there, it is too late, as catering has already been paid for and cannot be refunded on the day. One reason why people might not be there is because they have forgotten the date, or have lost the invitation. An invitation that is also a fridge magnet will ensure that they know exactly when and where the wedding is, and because it’s on their fridge they will see it every day and it won’t be lost or forgotten.
2. Music CD

A custom made music cd and cover with all the favourite songs of you and your partner is a great idea for a wedding invitation. It’s easy to send in the mail and as they listen to it, they will get an idea about the person that is to become a part of their lives and what your relationship means to you both. You can include the wedding song too, so that when it comes on at the reception everyone will remember it and will be ready to enjoy your first dance as a married couple.
3. Photo Book
A custom made photo book is a great way to invite your friends to your wedding. You can put in photographs of your time together and could also include some of you with your special friends and family members so that they feel a part of the day.
After the wedding the guests will be able to keep the book as a memento of your special day and you could even do a follow up book of the wedding to accompany the invitation book. It will be such a unique invitation that they will be as excited about your wedding as you are!

4. Home-Made Invitations
Sometimes we hear about wedding celebrations where the bride does all the preparations on her own and in some cases this can cause her to feel like her fiancé is not as excited as she is about the big day. Home-made invitations are a great idea because they give the occasion a personal touch. Not only will your friends and family be impressed with your creativity but it will give you and your partner something to do together as you prepare for your special day.
5. Photo Frame Invite
Wedding invitations don’t have to be just for that one day. A photo frame wedding invite is a lovely way of inviting your friends and family to your special day and it’s something that they can keep long after the wedding, as a reminder of the occasion. It can be made from cardboard and can include a picture of you and your partner with information of the date and time of the wedding on the back.
