Either you attended a wedding, or helped plan one and invariably received a load of advice on how to hire a wedding photographer. Amongst all those, or you may have heard of those few where the couple regrets the day they chose their wedding photographer. Even inspite of the photographers excellent references, great portfolio shots that you got were just photos and not memories.
Bad lighting, dark pictures, half heads, bad postures, are just some of the few faults your wedding photos have. However, they are enough to spoil the stunning wedding memories completely.

Many of you may have had the same problem, and years later you still don’t have a wedding album. You have not asked your wedding photographer to make one, purely as the pictures are so bad that there is no point in making one. However, if you are still stuck with bad photos, there are some options you have to resuscitate the dead photos. You can hope to improve or restore some of the memorable moments from your wedding. Mind you though; a lot of it will depend on how professional your photographer is.
Digital enhancement to remove the blips
Living in the digital age means you can thank the technology gods as it allows you to retouch your photos. This is a fairly easy process, which can help you fix any of the bad photos you may have. This process can make a boring picture light up with life or exotically cool. They can also help you to solve some common issues like dark pictures by lightening them, adjust the colours to achieve a warmer tone. As the responsibility lies with your photographer to get good pictures, you should be able to get your photos fixed for free.
In case you are stuck with a bunch of guests with bad faces, you can even choose the best face of each guest and replace their faces in the bad photos!
Making use of your video shots
In case your problem with your existing photos is that it is missing some key moments – there is a solution to that as well. Also, if the photo has turned out terrible then you can use similar stills from the video for your album. However, to have this option, do make sure that your video recording is being done by a separate firm. You can work with your video firm to produce some stills of your wedding, based on what is missing or is bad from the photo collection. In case you are technically gifted, you can do it yourself on video editing software. Save the stills and get your photographer to add them to the album.
Getting a refund
Now getting refund for a botched photo shoot job is not easy. However, if you analyse the photos properly and make a good case, you can get some of it back. Especially if you the number of photos are lighter than what you were led to believe. This can help you at least get the money back. You can then use this to get some anniversary shots done, which can form a part of your album.
Remember, bad wedding pictures are not the end of your special day memories. Connect with your photographer professionally and he will not only fix your bad photos but make them better.
